A Challenge to the Standard Cosmological Model

چکیده

We present the first joint analysis of catalogs radio galaxies and quasars to determine if their sky distribution is consistent with standard $\Lambda$CDM model cosmology. This based on cosmological principle, which asserts that universe statistically isotropic homogeneous large scales, so observed dipole anisotropy in cosmic microwave background (CMB) must be attributed our local peculiar motion. test null hypothesis there a motion inferred from CMB, as expected for cosmologically distant sources. Our two samples, constructed respectively NRAO VLA Sky Survey Wide-field Infrared Explorer, are systematically independent have no shared objects. Using completely general statistic accounts correlation between found amplitude its directional offset CMB dipole, independently rejected by galaxy quasar samples $p$-value $8.9\times10^{-3}$ $1.2\times10^{-5}$, respectively, corresponding $2.6\sigma$ $4.4\sigma$ significance. The significance, using sample size-weighted $Z$-scores, $5.1\sigma$. show dipoles each other find evidence any frequency dependence amplitude. consistency improves we boost frame assuming fully kinematic, suggesting may an intrinsic this frame.

The Standard Cosmological Model

We have a well-established standard model for cosmology and prospects for considerable additions from work in progress. I offer a list of elements of the standard model, comments on controversies in the interpretation of the evidence in support of this model, and assessments of the directions extensions of the standard model seem to be taking. Table of

The Standard Cosmological Model

The Standard Model of Particle Physics (SMPP) is an enormously successful description of high energy physics, driving ever more precise measurements to find ‘physics beyond the standard model’, as well as providing motivation for developing more fundamental ideas that might explain the values of its parameters. Simultaneously, a description of the entire 3-dimensional structure of the present-d...

The Self Creation Challenge to the Cosmological 'concordance Model'

It is important to have viable alternatives against which standard theories may be tested. In this paper such an alternative to the standard cosmological 'concordance model' is examined. It is shown how the theory of Self Creation Cosmology is as concordant as the standard model with cosmological observations and local experiments. This is due to a degeneracy in the interpretation of the data. ...

The Standard Cosmological Model and CMB Anisotropies

This is a course on cosmic microwave background (CMB) anisotropies in the standard cosmological model, designed for beginning graduate students and advanced undergraduates. “Standard cosmological model” in this context means a Universe dominated by some form of cold dark matter (CDM) with adiabatic perturbations generated at some initial epoch, e.g., Inflation, and left to evolve under gravity ...
